  • What is a recording session like at QRS?

    A recording session is what you make it! Generally speaking, a recording session is a creative, drug-free environment that is super chill and laid back. This is a no pressure, no judgment space allowing the artist to be themselves.

  • What genre do you specialize in?

    We have a network of musicians, producers and songwriters that specialize in Pop, RnB, Gospel, Soul and Country.

  • How long does it take to complete a song?

    This depends on multiple factors including: song length, instrumentation , and how prepared the artist is to record final vocals. We have seen songs completed in as little as 2 hours up to 2 years. Recording an original song from scratch takes an average of 8 hours.

  • I am a singer and I do not have any songs. Do you have someone who can write both music and lyrics?

    Yes. A lot of our clients do not write their own songs and/or would like help perfecting their songs. We can provide the singer with any supporting cast to complete their song.

  • Do I own my song?

    Song ownership depends on all of the parties involved in the creation of the song. If you have written, produced, recorded, and provided all instrumentation then you will own 100% of your song. Song ownership is usually determined by split sheets provided at every session where original writing is taking place.

  • Is a songwriting session a part of the of the studio time price?

    No. Having a songwriting session is an additional cost

  • What is a producer?

    The music producer oversees all aspects of the creation of a song or album from choice of song, choice of musicians, instruments and vocalist(s) and how those instruments are played and those notes sung as well as where the song or album is recorded.

  • What is an engineer?

    An audio engineer is a trained professional who works with the mechanics of recording, mixing, and reproducing sound. They deal specifically with the technical and the mechanical aspects of music and sound.
